SUCCESS
STORIES:
Todd
& Ashley Rowland
National Sales Manager, Ring of Honor, Presidential Ambassador
Hometown: Mooresville, NC
Joined Fortune: January 2001
Todd and
Ashley Rowland lived the typical American life; happy, but broke and
stressed. Todd chose a career as a high school history teacher and
football coach. Todd and Ashley made the commitment early on to
raise and educate their children at home. In doing so, they were
trying to maintain a family of five on an annual salary of
$35,000.00 a year.
When Todd first saw the Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing business
opportunity, the family was living paycheck to paycheck and had no
savings. Todd's father is responsible for exposing Todd to Fortune
and once he looked at the opportunity, Todd borrowed the money from
his father to become a Manager and Trainer Coach. Borrowing $698.00
when you live paycheck to paycheck is a big deal, but Todd had good
reason. Todd was 31 years old, nine years into his career, and saw
no other opportunity to start accumulating savings for himself and
his family unless something changed.
Todd and Ashley discussed how to run their part-time Fortune
business and committed to working 6-8 hours per week in an effort to
earn an additional $500.00 per month. The first three months were
not easy, but Todd and Ashley stuck to their commitment. They
weren't going to quit, there were simply no other options. By the
fourth month of their Fortune business, Todd and Ashley reached
their $500.00 per month goal. That additional money allowed them to
do things they had previously been forced to give up. They started
going out to lunch after church as a family and enjoying other small
luxuries.
At that point, Todd and Ashley reevaluated their commitment to
Fortune and chose to give up all their free time and devote it to
growing their business. Over the next several months, their income
continued to grow and by their 9th month in Fortune, Todd was able
to resign from his teaching job and work Fortune full-time.
Todd and Ashley have been Fortune Reps for 43 months and they are
well on their way to having the American Dream. They have no boss,
no set working schedule, they own their dream home, and have the
freedom to travel. The Rowland's monthly Fortune income now exceeds
Todd's annual salary as a teacher and coach, but he's not stopping.
Todd is a leader in the Fortune community, and Ashley has founded
"Team Fortune", a support based group for the spouses of Fortune
Representatives. We're pleased to feature Todd and Ashley Rowland,
National Sales Managers, and 2004 Ring of Honor recipients.
Judy Robbins
National Sales Manager
Hometown: Jackson, TN.
Joined Fortune: January 2002
Judy Robbins is
a National Sales Manager of Fortune Hi-Tech
Marketing. She is a pure ball of energy and once you've been in her
presence, you'll never forget her. Judy jumped into her Fortune
business with the same passion as she has done with everything in
her life. Before becoming a Fortune Representative Judy owned two
businesses, a corporate recruiting company and an information
technology contracting company. As such, Judy is no stranger to hard
work. Within 3 months of becoming a Fortune Representative, Judy
quit her job and devoted herself to her Fortune business fulltime.
Within another 2 months, she was an Executive Sales Manager.
Ten years ago, Judy and her husband Brian decided that he would
resign his engineering position and stay home to raise the children
so Judy could concentrate on building her technology firm. Well,
Brian is home with the family, but Judy is on the road sometimes
weeks at a time being a top Fortune leader. Judy counts herself as
blessed to have such an awesome home based support system. "He takes
care of the kids and he takes care of me." Judy knows she is
fortunate to have such strong support and that many others don't
have that advantage. But she doesn't allow others to use that excuse
for not getting into the business. By far, Judy's biggest pet peeve
about people she approaches is hearing "I don't have time." "I just
laugh when they say they don't have time. Then I ask them, 'What are
you going to do to get the time?'"
When asked about her "Fortune Philosophy" (that thing which makes
her a successful Fortune Representative) Judy responded "honesty,
integrity, consistency and belief in one's self (that you can do
it)." She carries this powerful philosophy with her everywhere she
goes. So why does she do it? Why does Judy spend time away from her
home and family to work this business? The answer is similar to many
of yours. Judy wants to be able to do all she can to help her
children enjoy their lives. "God didn't intend for us to kill
ourselves for 40 years. If I can give them financial independence, I
have done my job."
Judy's giving spirit doesn't stop with her children. "Just imagine
how many people I could help if I became a millionaire." Judy's big
heart wants not just to give, but to make a true difference. She
cited organizations such as adoption agencies and unwed mothers
where she could see her money doing good for so many.
Chris
Doyle
National Sales Manager, Ring of Honor, Presidential Ambassador
Hometown: Jackson, TN.
Joined Fortune: January 2002
Chris and
Judy Doyle are National Sales Managers, Ring of Honor Member, and
one of three Presidential Directors in Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing.
Chris will openly admit that he was skeptical about the Fortune
opportunity when his nephew, Bronson, attempted to get him to attend
a meeting.
“I stood him
up three times before finally attending" In 2002 Chris joined
Fortune in 2002, making the decision that would forever change his
life.
For 18 years
Chris and Judy owned a very successful manufacturing business that
had national contracts with leading denim brands. They were accustom
to living a very comfortable lifestyle with no debt and very little
stress but lacking in true time freedom. The introduction of NAFTA
caused his company's business to decline forcing Chris and Judy to
close their plants doors. The past 18 years of his life were gone
and he was in need of something to fill the void professionally and
financially. Chris, driven by his goals to be debt-free and
successful, he viewed Fortune as an option offering "low investment
and unlimited opportunity". He now give credit to Fortune with
helping him beat depression brought on by the loss of his previous
business venture
Chris says
he realizes he cannot make others want what he wants in terms of
success. However he offers up this advice to new representatives:
"Believe in yourself and never quit! Never take financial advice
from broke people.
Brock
Keen
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Bend, OR.
Joined Fortune: November 2004
Being only
26 years old Brock Keen has quite a bit of experience in the Network
Marketing industry. The day that he turned 18 he got started with a
company he spent 6 years with and then in November of 2004 he joined
Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing. Brock joined the Fortune team because he
was looking for something that was more rewarding than anything else
out there. "After being around the industry all of my life and being
directly involved for over 8 years I couldn’t find anything that
could compare compensation plan wise or leadership wise" Brock says.
Brock gave
going to college a shot and soon found out that was not the road he
wanted to follow, moving into the traditional job world for the 40
or 50 years just did not seem satisfying. Brock was raised by his
parents Dave and Tami Keen, who are also Fortune representatives, to
think outside the box due to the fact they were business owners.
Brock Keen
heads up a team called Young Wealth Marketing that originally
catered to the 18-25 crowds but is now encompassing all age groups.
Brock's goals are to help people of all ages and backgrounds become
financially independent and to live a life by there own design not
by someone else's. Brock is rising up the Fortune ladder of success
rapidly and wants to take as many people with him as possible.
Steve
Jordan
National Sales Manager
Hometown:
Claremore, OK
Joined Fortune: November 2004
Before he
joined Fortune Steve Jordan was a top 50 money earner in another
network marketing company. Then, a good friend, Ruel Morton
introduced Steve to Fortune.
"After
researching several companies, I could not find a better on than
Fortune and a reason why Fortune would not work!" Steve recalls. “I
thought to myself, ' this is a company that is 100% debt free. They
pay out more money in there compensation plan than any other company
in the history of the industry and it’s a ground floor opportunity.
It just can't get any better than that."
Fortune has
allowed Steve to focus more on his family, the top priority in his
life. While he hosts a Fortune meeting almost daily, he wakes up
every morning with his family and is able to eat breakfast with out
worry of being late to a job. For his personal time Steve love to
ride his custom Harley Davidson Heritage Softail along with his wife
Shelly and all thanks to choosing the Fortune opportunity.
In addition
to the free time he has been afforded though Fortune, Steve says the
business world has taught him a lot about people. “I have come to
realize that not everyone will do exactly what they say they are
going to do." While this challenge was difficult for Steve to deal
with in the beginning, it made him realize the value of dependable
people. The goals that Steve has set focus more on what he does not
want rather than what he wants.
“I don't
want a J.O.B. (just over broke). I don't want a boss telling me what
I am worth. I don't want to live in an average house or drive an
average car. I don't want my kids to go to average schools or to
take average vacations, and I do not want to work 40 hours a week
for 40 years and retire with a $40 gold watch."
With Steve's
emphasis on immediate action, consistency, perseverance and
integrity his business is soaring towards success.
Scott
and Molly Aguilar
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: San Diego, CA.
Joined Fortune: December 2004
At a young
age Scott and Molly are driven towards to success. They joined
Fortune in at the end of 2004 after leaving another network
marketing company looking for stronger leadership and a more
rewarding compensation plan for themselves and their team. After
investing there time and hard work they rose to the top of 100
earners of that company and within a year with Fortune they did it
again.
So what is
the key to their success?
"We are
consistent and expect success" Molly says. When most people are
discouraged by temporary defeat we don't give up."
Sometimes,
the Aguilars wanted success for a new representative more than
individuals wanted it for themselves. After 8 years in the industry
they have learned that instead of focusing on those who need there
time Scott and Molly focus on those who deserve there time. Working
with those who want it as badly as they do is one of the things that
have helped this husband and wife team climb to the top of Fortune
in such short time.
The Aguilars
operate under the manta "Sell the Dream and Build a Team".
"We go out
with passion and excitement and explain to people how we can help
them accomplish their dreams through building a team of like-minded
individuals who all work together for one common goal: to accomplish
Big Money and Free Time.
Joel
McNinch
National Sales Manager
Hometown: Royal Oak, MI.
Joined Fortune: November 2004
A few years ago, Joel McNinch worked in
management at a Fortune 100 company. Although successful, he was
miserable. Joel lacked financial independence and the freedom to
manage his time as he chose.
Then in
November 2004, Joel joined Fortune. He was convinced that the
compensation plan was the most generous in the network marketing
industry, and for Joel, one of the most important aspects of this
business is the security it provides. “Working for Fortune is an
opportunity you can’t be downsized from,” he says. “You’re building
something solid and lasting.”
Joel
believes in helping others succeed as they grow their business. His
philosophy centers on building Regional Sales Managers and helping
new people earn the largest paychecks possible. He enjoys working
with others and seeing the changes they experience in their lives
financially. “There is something very rewarding about having an
impact in the way people live and the hope this business and our
team brings to their life.”
Joel also
appreciates his income with Fortune. “The kind of money Fortune is
starting to pay us just expands your thinking and opens options up
that you may never have considered.” Joel would like to become a
cash millionaire within the next few years and to retire in the
President’s Pool by 2008, at the age of 35.
“Get promoted and get busy!!!” Joel tells new
Representatives eager to thrive. By following his own advice, Joel
McNinch is achieving his goals for success.
Jerry
& Deborah Brown
National Sales Manager, Rin of Honor
Hometown: Atlanta, GA.
Team Excellence: A team, Building Teams, is
lead by Jerry and Deborah Brown. Jerry is not shy about sharing his
enthusiasm for members of his team. He believes the men and women he
works with are "some of the most powerful and anointed leaders in
the industry."
The foundation of Team Excellence is the
Biblical verse, Matthew 6:33, which states, “Seek ye first the
Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be
added unto you.”
Jerry and
Deborah were born and raised in Bronx, New York. Jerry served for
twenty years in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division Air
Assault. He has also served as a full-time pastor with the Church of
God in Christ, in Germany, Korea, Iraq and the U.S.
Jerry offers
two pieces of advice for those Reps who want to be successful.
First, he believes they should treat their $299 investment like a
$299,000 investment. Secondly, he believes all Reps should make a
three to five year commitment to their business.
Because of
the hard work and dedication of Jerry and his team, Team Excellence
reached the level of National Sales Manager on June 6th of this
year. Jerry and Deborah also earned a place in the 2006 Ring of
Honor.
Using the
qualities of leadership by example, passion for what he does, and
compassion for those he serves, Jerry Brown believes that Team
Excellence will make it to the top of success with Fortune Hi-Tech
Marketing.
Mike
Misenheimer
National Sales Manager, Ring of Honor
Hometown: Gravette AK.
Joined Fortune: November 2004
As a former horse shoer from Arkansas, Mike
Misenheimer began each day unemployed. "I always had to work to get
paid. I didn't mind the work, it's just that there was no place to
stop."
Today, Mike
and his wife Brenda don’t have to worry about finding the next job.
Their hard work building their Fortune business since November 2004
has paid off. The family of 5 is now 100% debt free, driving the
cars of their dreams, and have money in the bank.
“Life is awesome,” says Mike. “We are now able
to contribute in so many ways to our church, community, and family.”
Mike has
utilized his ability to listen to others while building his team. He
believes listening provides you with a way to find out what others
want while showing them that you care. In turn, the people who know
you are willing to help them reach their goals will be more likely
to work harder with you.
Much of his
success is attributed to four steps, according to Mike. First, he
and Brenda knew specifically what they wanted. Next, they developed
a plan to get what they wanted, followed by putting their plan into
action. Finally, Mike and Brenda are staying committed until they
get exactly what they want.
“I have achieved many goals in Fortune. I
believe you have to keep setting new ones or you’ll plateau.”
Mike’s
desire to succeed and ability to care for others while in the
business world has helped him reach the Ring of Honor as a 2006
inductee.
Bob
Decant - JoAnne McMahon
National Sales Manager
Hometown: Toledo, OH.
Bob Decant and JoAnne McMahon joined Fortune in
2004 after listening to a conference call discussing the vision of
the company.
“We decided that Fortune was for us after
looking at the leadership of the company and those that were already
working the business. After reading their stories and seeing their
success, we had a heart-to-heart with our team and decided that
joining Fortune was where we could be a business with integrity and
longevity.”
With the
goal of reaching the President’s Pool, Bob and JoAnne work hard to
model the business behavior they seek in others. “We need to be the
type of person that we are looking for.”
One aspect of the business they seek to model involves customer
loyalty. They believe keeping customers “in the loop” is the most
critical element of maintaining their loyalty to Fortune’s products
and services. “Remember, these are family and friends,” says JoAnne.
“Don’t just sign them up and leave them.”
Bob and
JoAnne enjoy working the Fortune business because they know they
have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others. They
particularly find gratification in helping new team members write
down their goals and begin achieving them. After new team members
begin to achieve their goals, Bob and JoAnne see them starting to
dream again.
This
easy-going duo is climbing the ladder of success with Fortune. “We
have found it to be one of the most lucrative ways to make residual
income, and at the same time, actually contribute to the success of
others.”
Ruel
& Angel Morton
National Sales Manager, Ring of Honor, Presidential Ambassador
Hometown: Longview, TX.
Joined Fortune: November 2004
Ruel Morton epitomizes success. Born and raised
in a low middle-income home in Texas, Ruel knew little about
business. Almost everyone in his town, including his father, worked
for the local steel mill, with little opportunity for personal or
professional growth.
Around the
time Ruel left for college, the steel market crashed, costing all
5,000 local mill employees their jobs. The pain and loss Ruel saw
all around him helped make him realize he never wanted to work for
someone else. It is this resolve that has enabled Ruel to become
successful in the network marketing industry.
Rule
believes many Americans know how to make money for others, but not
for themselves. “Business is finding an unfulfilled need and filling
that need. Business is not a guy in a suit and tie behind a desk. It
is whatever we do every single day.”
Because of
his hard work and dedication to the field, Ruel was the top Fortune
money earner in 2005 and was named to the 2005 Ring of Honor.
Gilbert
Anderson
National Sales Manager
Hometown: Alberta, CA.
As the first person to open a Fortune business
in Canada, Gilbert Anderson knows the importance of building a good
team. "You can never build a dynasty by yourself," he says, "but
with the right team, you can do anything."
Gilbert
claims that it is his team that makes him successful. Gilbert enjoys
working with committed Representatives who are willing to set goals
and work toward them. Though he knows sacrifices must be made,
Gilbert believes the right attitude, coupled with the ability to
dream, will help others succeed. “Fortune gives the average person
like you and me a little better chance at winning.”
Gilbert also
believes in the power a positive attitude can have in a person’s
business. “A.L. Williams says before you can be great, you have to
be good. Before you can be good, you have to be bad. Before you can
be bad, you have to try. Your attitude is everything. Change your
attitude and I guarantee you will change your results.”
Tom
& Diana Waggoner
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Cedar Park, TX
After working in the restaurant industry for
more than 28 years, Tom and Diana Waggoner said they "got out of
jail" when they sold their last restaurant.
Understanding that “word of mouth” advertising is the most effective
form of advertising and wanting to help others become successful
they joined Fortune in November 2004.
“Today, we have found a business where we can
teach people to become solid business owners, rather than good
employees. We have several younger people on our team that need and
want business advice. We love to coach them and watch them become
successful. To achieve financial freedom in today’s market, you must
own your own business. Fortune allows us to have time freedom as
well as financial freedom while helping others achieve their goals.”
Tom and
Diana are also excited about the future of Fortune. “We market for
companies such as Dish, Cingular and Disney. Since these companies
handle their own billing and have huge customer service divisions,
the customer gathering and retention has been easy because our
customers are happy. What’s even more exciting is that there are
probably “widgets” that haven’t even been invented yet that we will
be able to market. This gives us unlimited resources!”
While the
independence and freedom that a Fortune business can provide is
achievable, Tom and Diana remind Representatives that it takes hard
work and commitment. “Remember, the race goes not to the swift, nor
the battle to the strong, but to the one that finishes.”
Tina
Talbert & Adam Talbert
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: West Plains, MO
Adam Talburt was introduced to Fortune by his
mother, Tina Talburt. After viewing the business plan, any doubts
Adam had about the company were resolved and the mother-son team
began building their business.
“There is no one I trust and respect more than
my mother,’ says Adam. “If I am going to be in business with
someone, why not her?”
Tina admires
her son and business partner, as well. “Adam is passionate about
being in business for oneself, thinking for oneself and making one’s
own decisions. He inspires others to do the same.”
In addition
to their success, Tina and Adam have faced business challenges. Adam
once feared public speaking. Now, he feels he can confidently
deliver a message to others. Tina, on the other hand, had to learn
she could only help those who were willing to help themselves.
Tina and
Adam have advice for new Representatives wanting to succeed in
Fortune. “Convince yourself that failure is not an option and play
to win!”
Paul
Stowers & John Volker
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Kalamazoo, MI
John Volker
and Paul Stowers comprise the entrepreneurial team, JP Marketing
Group. The due joined Fortune in September of 2005, quickly climbing
the ranks to Executive Sales Manager within their first three
months.
Both John
and Paul see the potential to build financial freedom by helping
others as an exciting opportunity. “We love the vision of this
company, the strength of the management team, and the direction the
company is going,” says Volker.
John is a
talented recruiter while Paul feels his strength lies in training
others, showing the complementing business relationship of the two
men. “We felt our talents could serve more people and excel our
growth by joining together.”
JP Marketing
Group is hoping to reach the National Sales manager position by
their year anniversary of being in the company. With their giving
attitudes and dedication, they are well on their way.
Guy
& Charlene Draper
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: British Columbia, Canada
"A
dream is a wish without action. Fortune is the action to move you
toward your dreams," advise Guy and Charlene Draper.
Instead of
dreaming about their desire for financial freedom, the Drapers
joined Fortune after hearing about the expansion into Canada,
allowing their dreams to be put into action. They have worked
diligently; building teams and helping others achieve their goals.
“Leadership is an activity, not a position or
title,” relates Guy, describing the duo’s personal operating
philosophy. “Seeing others succeed is one of the most gratifying and
emotional moments anyone could experience.”
Working
their Fortune business has allowed the Drapers to more than replace
their current income. Charlene feels working as a family to build
their business is a truly rewarding experience. She also encourages
others to work this business, saying, “We are no different than
anyone else. If we can do this, anyone can.”
Ken
Grisham
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Jackson, MS
Ken Grisham,
a former stock broker and an insurance and advertising business
owner, was amazed by the Fortune business plan after being
introduced to it in 2005.
“Fortune offers so much to so many. Everyone is
paying bills for the products and services we offer. Why not pay
yourself? I have never seen an opportunity like this.” Ultimately,
Ken joined Fortune because of the unique opportunity it offers to
its Representatives.
Ken now
strives to offer hope and opportunity to others, helping them build
a better life. He believes the wellness industry in particular will
expand drastically over the next five years. Emphasizing True
Essentials, Ken says, ‘I feel Paul has put us, with Fortune, in a
position to change the lives of many, not only financially, but from
a health standpoint.”
With the
primary focus of his life being both Jesus Christ and his family,
Ken says, “I want to live an extraordinary life, to offer more, to
share more, and to give more.” Most of all, Ken enjoys waking up
each day to meet new people, share the Fortune opportunity, and
promote the unlimited income opportunities afforded those who work
the Fortune business.
Robert
Rivera
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Irving, TX
Robert
Rivera spent much of his early years watching his father struggle as
a second shift machinist. Because of this experience, he knew he did
not want to be limited by a fixed income or to the time constraints
of a 9 to 5 job.
“I knew that one day when I had my own family,
I wanted to be there, spend as much time as possible with my kids,
and be involved with their daily activities without having to worry
about finances.”
Currently,
his goals include reaching the National Sales Manager position and
becoming a top ten money earner. Robert is striving toward this goal
by encouraging men and women on his team who are “doers, not
complainers.”
Rivera
credits the people he has met through Fortune for inspiring him and
helping him grow as a person. “If not for this business, I would
still be that quiet, introverted kid that didn’t want to relate to
anybody and was always alone.”
No longer
shy and reclusive, Robert Rivera spoke on stage at FortuneFest 2006
in Orlando, Florida.
Roger
McKay
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Alberta, Canada
Roger McKay remembers watching his parents
struggle financially in the traditional workforce. For that reason,
Roger started his own company at the age of 19. After successfully
managing his business for more than two decades, Roger realized his
business was running him as much as he was running his business. He
decided to join a network marketing company, shutting down his
traditional business.
When Roger’s
first network-marketing venture ended, Gilbert Anderson approached
him about Fortune, which was about to expand into Canada. Roger
quickly decided Fortune was for him.
Roger wanted
to align himself with winners. He knew Gilbert Anderson, Terry and
Sandi Walker, and Ruel Morton as true winners in the field. Roger
also says he believes Fortune has the most lucrative compensation
plan in the network marketing industry today. Roger offers this
advice to other Reps: “keep it simple. Believe in yourself and what
you are building. You are part of something big and you better
believe it or your prospects won’t.”
Kathy
Taylor
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Somerset, KY
Self-described
"healthy, active, and blessed senior" Kathy Taylor is a former nurse
and lifetime health enthusiast who enjoys sharing her passion with
others. She sees the True Essentials line with Fortune as one way to
share her enthusiasm.
My 20+ years
of learning the ‘bare bones’ of the nutrition world have made such a
difference in my personal life and energy level, and I have a desire
to direct others to a healthier way of life, as well.”
In addition
to the business compatibility she has experienced with her husband
Charlie, Kathy has also worked closely with Monna Lane, a long time
friend. Kathy considers herself to be the “detailed, nuts and bolts”
person of the duo, while Monna is the “bubble and personality.”
Ultimately,
Kathy strives to live and work utilizing Christian principles. “I
treat others as I would hope to be treated, set appointments,
follow-up, arrive promptly, and am prepared to present the
opportunity accurately and succinctly.”
Terry
& Sandi Walker
Executive Sales Manager
Hometown: Benton, AK
Teamwork. That is what Terry and Sandi Walker
believe has helped shape their network marketing success.
“Terry and I are a Super Team. If he ever has a
bad day, I pick him up and vice versa,” Sandi says about her husband
and business partner. “Terry is one of the best at training and
helping a new Rep get started. I feel my strength is helping people
to believe in themselves. I want them to know that if we can do it,
they can, too!”
The couple
joined Fortune after accruing network marketing experience with
another company. Ruel Morton introduced the Fortune business plan to
Terry and Sandi, and they signed up the next day.
The Walkers
find True Essentials (TE) to be the most exciting Fortune product
line because TE products can improve people’s lives, much like they
did their own.
“We take everything in the TE line. We feel
better than we ever have,” says Sandi.
Because of
their determination and desire to succeed, Terry and Sandi Walker
aren’t stopping until they reach their goal: becoming the top
Fortune team.
